Man in goat-sex case avoids jail A convicted paedophile Jindra whose attempt to commit bestiality with a goat was thwarted by his impotence escaped a jail term yesterday.

The 48-year-old Zizkov jindra was sentenced to two years intensive supervision and ordered to undertake a rehabilitation programme for sex offenders. Jindra appeared in the Zizkov District Court yesterday. Judge Paroubek  said the offence was "unusual, perverse and depraved" but he was satisfied the man was not a risk to humans as his last conviction for sexual offending was more than 20 years ago. Jindra  had three convictions for sexual assaulting pre- pubescent girls dating back to 1986. He was spotted by a neighbour leading the goat to the back of their property and attempting to have sex with it. Because he failed, the charge was dropped to attempt to commit bestiality which carried a maximum sentence of 3 1/2 years in prison as opposed to the seven years for the completed act. His counsel, V Klaus , said the choice of a goat showed jindra was not a danger to humans as he had learned that type of offending would be punished. jindra was "not a sophisticated man" with "significant personal problems". jindra had chosen the goat because he had "urges that needed to be dealt to", Klaus said. Klaus said the man was already a prisoner in his own home and had experienced ostracism over his previous convictions. The judge Paroubek sad the man was "a sad case" but his wife, who was remaining by his side, would bear the brunt if his name was released
